Laserfiche digital archiving stores your document text and images in industry-standard ASCII and TIFF formats. Using ASCII and TIFF formats simplifies compliance with eye-readability rules and also allows easy migration of data to future storage and viewing technologies.

Laserfiche digital archiving promotes efficient and economical document search, retrieval and distribution. Users digitally view, share, and if needed, print images of original paper documents, protecting the originals from daily wear and tear. Originals can be stored off-site or destroyed as necessary.

Use of non-proprietary storage formats simplifies eye-readability compliance throughout the retention period. For simple housekeeping, Laserfiche allows you to add disposal date index fields to your records. Authorized personnel regularly search by disposal date and delete the appropriate documents from your archives.

How does Laserfiche help me manage retention schedules for confidential records?
When dealing with sensitive records, backup copies must be destroyed along with the originals. Laserfiche’s support of multiple volumes addresses this need by allowing users to create volumes based on expiration date.

Example: You create a volume for records to be destroyed on December 31, 2001 , and another for records to be destroyed January 30, 2002 , and so on. Simply place records into appropriate volumes as they are imported or scanned and backup each volume on a separate tape or other media. When a volume is due for disposal, delete the volume and destroy the corresponding backup tape as well.

You can also search by index fields, such as date, department or invoice number, which pertain to the document you’re searching for. The Laserfiche full-text search unlocks the contents of your documents; if you need to find a word or phrase within a document, the full-text search retrieves it immediately. You can also combine document, batch or folder name searches with index and full-text searches to pinpoint the exact piece of information you need. Yes, with Laserfiche WebLink. WebLink is a secure gateway between your digital archives and your intranet or the Internet at large.
